At a special ceremony held on 30th March, ten members of Smallbone's Devizes workshop team received long service awards from parent company Canburg's owner and CEO, Leo Caplan.
Each of the recipients has been with Smallbone for 25 or more years; several having joined the company as trainees. This underlines Smallbone's commitment to Britain's long tradition of bespoke cabinetmaking, combining state of the art facilities with passing on age-old craft skills.
Awarding each man a specially boxed luxury watch, a certificate and a £1000 bonus, Leo Caplan commented, "Their dedication and skill lie at the heart of Smallbone's unique and beautiful products, which are famous all over the world. It's not so much a job as a calling and we are proud to celebrate both their decades of loyalty and their remarkable capabilities."
Awarded left to right:
Tim Hutchins, Jason Briggs, Ken Ponting, Gordon Dunford, Mick Meadows, Leo Caplan (Presenting), John Blows, Terry Newman, Tim Wolf, Howard Higgins.
